Uhm...

I'm done.

I didn't do the monkey, actually. I sobbed quietly in the kitchen for a good ten minutes--it's that kind of ending. (Romancing the Stone, anyone? Except I at least had toilet paper.)

Anyway, I'm 75 pages into the first edit--and for the record? 715 (+ or - a few pages as I edit...) 715 pages that make up part 1 of what was supposed to be a medium sized Young Adult novel... and, well, you all know how the 'Young Adult' part turned out.

I'm boggled, I'm exhausted, I'm proud, I'm anxious, I'm already anticipating writing Part II (which is already plotted out, btw.)

I'm knitting a lot this weekend, with a couple of naps.

I"m planning my mittens for Samurai's strikke-along.

And I'm re-reading my own book with the time honored prayer, (you've all heard it before, we can say it in unison now,) Oh Goddess, may it not suck.

Amen.

Congratulations! Yay you!!!! I am so in awe of people who write books (and jealous, too). What a labor of love and commitment. Like birthing a child without the sloppy kisses and hugs. I joined the strikke along too. Now, I guess I need to learn some Norwegian words so i can curse appropriately as I attempt some stranded color work!

Since its summer in Aus, I have decided to do mittens to, but to challenge myself I am going to steek the thumb in, as well as colorwork.

I am sure your book will make us all cry, but they're the best kind, and I always re-read those ones.

cheers chick, have a good week in the jungle.

Yayyy! So when do I get to read it?

Well, I have no interest in the strikke along, but I can give you some Norwegian cuss words if you like. "Det er skite" pronounced Deh er skeet! means, "This is shit!" "Dig misse!" pronounced Die meese! means, "You pussy!" And "Du lille fokker." means, "You little f*cker!" Will that do to start with?

I am in the strikke along too - time to go try colourwork for the first time I suppose.
Congrats on the finishing of part one
