That they said it knowing it would sting or that they said it & really didn't understand the gut punch they just delivered?😐 The one I am thinking of I am still periodically tripping over mentally as I try to rectify the truly thoughtless sentence my dad delivered with the fact that I know he loves me & yet...

So I get the disconnect & am totally with you on the confusion.Devonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00766813259194992585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7038815217243908035.post-15481649088635242015-10-07T01:38:32.934-07:002015-10-07T01:38:32.934-07:00Wonderful post, especially the part about the assu...Wonderful post, especially the part about the assumptions others make about us because of what we write. Some time ago I was doing the dishes with a friend of my husbands. He was genuinely interested in the books I had written and asked me about the m/f one. I answered best I could until he asked: so, did you try it all out? I in turn asked him if he would have asked me the same question if I had written say The Texas Chainsaw Massacre; I think he got my drift by then, but I followed it up with; and even if your answer to that question is yes, it is still none of your business.

My daughter on the other hand is very proud I've written and published books but has no interest in reading them because, and I quote, 'parents and sex is just yuck'.Helena Stonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17529886101156451591noreply@blogger.com
